Ten Rules of the International Ski Federation (FIS)

All skiers and snowboarders must follow the so-called skiing rules, and serious violations may result in guests being removed from the areas.

1. Consideration

A skier or snowboarder must behave in a way that does not endanger, inconvenience, or harm others.

2. Speed Control

A skier or snowboarder must always maintain control of their speed. They must not go faster than their ability allows and conditions permit, such as weather, snow conditions, and the number of people on the slopes.

3. Choice of Route

The person coming down the slope or approaching others from behind must choose a route that does not endanger those ahead.

4. Overtaking

You may pass other skiers or snowboarders from above or below, right or left side, provided that the person being passed has enough space to maneuver.

5. Entering or Being on a Marked Trail

Anyone entering a marked trail or starting again after stopping or turning uphill must look around carefully and ensure they don’t endanger themselves or others.

6. Stopping on the Slope

A skier or snowboarder should not stop where the trail is narrow or visibility is limited unless absolutely necessary. If they fall, they should move off the trail as quickly as possible.

7. Walking up or down the Slope

Skiers or snowboarders walking up or down the slope must stay at the edge of marked trails.

8. Sign Instructions

Skiers and snowboarders must fully comply with all signs posted on the slopes.

9. Assistance

In case of an accident, everyone must provide whatever assistance they can.

10. Identification after an Accident

All skiers or snowboarders who witness or are involved in an accident must identify themselves, regardless of whether they are responsible for the accident or not.

Instructions for T-bar Lifts

Form a Line

Please form a single line for T-bar lifts and do not cut in line. Snowboarders should remove their back binding.

Getting on the Lift

Hold your poles in your outer hand and position yourself in time. Turn towards the lift and grab the disc with your free hand.

On the Way Up

Don’t sit on the disc. Stand upright, lean slightly back, and let the lift pull you. Snowboarders should place their free foot between the bindings.

Don’t Turn

Stay in the lift track under the middle of the lift cable and don’t make turns. Don’t let go too early as this can compromise your safety and that of others on the lift.

If You Fall

Clear the lift track as quickly as possible. Others on the lift often cannot turn to avoid you.

Getting off the Lift

Release the disc straight ahead, not to the side. Don’t go too far. Clear the lift track in the right direction as soon as possible.

Instructions for Chair Lifts

Approaching the Lift

Please form a line and don’t push others. Follow staff instructions. Don’t leave empty spaces to minimize waiting time. Snowboarders should release their back foot.

Getting on the Lift

Position yourself in time and hold both poles in one hand. Look back and watch for the chair. Close the safety bar after sitting down, while watching your seat companion.

On the Lift

Please remain seated, keep your skis on top of the bar, and don’t swing. Don’t throw objects from the lift or smoke due to environmental and safety concerns.

If the Lift Stops

Stay calm even if the lift stops for an extended period. Wait for information from staff. Jumping from the lift can be life-threatening as height perception from the lift can be very deceptive.

Before Getting Off

Position yourself in time. Don’t lift the safety bar until you reach the sign and lift the front of your skis up.

Getting off the Lift

Exit the lift on the correct side and immediately clear the unloading area. Those who stop there endanger the safety of others following behind.

Snow Groomers

During Operating Hours

If a snow groomer needs to operate in the area during opening hours, exercise extreme caution and maintain a safe distance.

After Closing

All general traffic in the ski area is prohibited when the area is closed, as grooming machines and snowmobiles are operating.

BLUE FLASHING LIGHT

When a blue light is flashing, all traffic throughout the area is strictly prohibited. A snow groomer with a winch cable can be lethal as the cable can snap without warning.

Please Note!

Please note that all snowmobile and jeep driving off-road in the ski areas is strictly prohibited.

Dogs running loose are also strictly prohibited in the ski areas.

The ski areas also include those areas designated for cross-country skiing trails.

Let’s enjoy the clean air. Smoking is prohibited in the ski area.
